More about other plastics

Other plastic resins include Acrylic, Nylon, Polycarbonate, PBT, etc and multilayer combinations of different plastics.

ABS Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene

ABS (Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene), is an opaque thermoplastic that is strong/ durable even at low temperatures. It offers good resistance to heat and chemicals and is easy to process. Its outstanding material qualities make ABS one of the most popular plastics materials, and an essential element in everyday life.

PA Polyamide

PA (Polyamide) is a semi-crystalline polymer. There are two types: those made of one basic material (e.g. PA 6), and those made of two basic materials (e.g. PA 66). They can occur both naturally (e.g. wool and silk)- as well as synthetically (e.g. nylon).

PMMA Polymethyl Methacrylate

PMMA (Polymethyl methacrylate) stands for Acrylic (also known as Plexiglas). It has a high transparency light transmission (>92%) good resistance to UV light, and weather conditions. It has an extremely high surface hardness, good resistance to chemicals, and can easily be thermoformed.

PC Polycarbonate

PC (Polycarbonate) is a high performance, sustainable, and eco-efficient material - used in a large variety of everyday applications. It has a unique combination of properties, offering clarity, durability, safety, versatility - as well as heat and shatter resistance.

PBT Polybutylene Terephthalate

PBT (Polybutylene Terephthalate) is a thermoplastic crystalline polymer which is mechanically strong, solvent resistant material - and has low shrinkage properties during formation.

Multi-Layer Film

Packaging or Labels: Flexible packaging, is widely used (instead of rigid and semi-rigid packaging), because of its flexible characteristics like low weight, durability, cost effectiveness, attractiveness and its easiness to be shaped. To produce flexible packaging the basic raw materials are polyester (PET), polyfilm (PA), metallic film, BOPP, paper, adhesive etc. They represent 17% of all packaging in the world.
